ZTE Nubia Z5 Overview

At the end of December, a new flagship smartphone was announced ZTE Nubia Z5 with a large display, 4-core processor, support for the main types networks. In this mini-review, we will talk about the main characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the model.

Appearance

Design ZTE Nubia Z5 is very attractive: the gadget has rounded edges, a thin frame around the display, a slightly convex camera. On the front surface there is a screen that is reliably protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2, the size of the frame around is only 2.67 mm, above it you can see the speaker and the front camera, and below it is the mechanical control button.

On the sides of the gadget are the power / lock button and the volume rocker, on the top side there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a card slot covered by a lid, and on the bottom side there is a microUSB output. On the back side, you can see the “peephole” of the camera slightly protruding above the surface, the LED flash, the speaker slots and the logo.

The assembly of the device is excellent: there are no squeaks during operation and no backlash.

The dimensions of the apparatus are 138x69.2x7.6 mm, and the weight is 126 g. Although the smartphone has impressive dimensions, it is comfortable to hold and use it.

Performance and software

ZTE Nubia Z5 is based on a 4-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 ARM Cortex-A15 clocked at 1.5 GHz, Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB RAM. All these characteristics provide excellent performance and speed. There are no lags, slowdowns when launching modern resource-demanding games and watching high-definition video.

Built-in memory in the gadget provides 32 GB. The device operates under the operating system Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

The Nubia Z5 is pre-installed with standard software: a browser, an email client, programs for integration with social networks, audio and video players, other games and applications.

The device supports Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, HSPA+ and FM radio (when the headset is on).

The smartphone operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA 850/2100 MHz, CDMA, EVDO and LTE networks, although it only supports one SIM card.

Screen

ZTE Nubia Z5 is equipped with a 5-inch capacitive touch screen Sharp made using IPS technology, with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and 16 million colors. Density - 443 ppi. The type of sensor used in this gadget is OGS, which supports up to 10 touches.

The image quality can be said to be excellent: the colors are bright and natural, and the contrast is good. In general, viewing photos and videos will only bring joy.

Camera

The ZTE Nubia Z5 uses a 13-megapixel main camera with auto focus, HDR and LED flash. It allows you to take pictures with a maximum resolution of 4208x3120 pixels and record Full HD video at frame rate 30 per second.

Photos and videos taken under normal lighting conditions are of good quality: bright, saturated colors, fine details are visible, and good contrast. But in the absence of a sufficient amount of light, the quality deteriorates significantly.

Battery

The smartphone is equipped with a 2300 mAh lithium-ion battery. One battery charge is enough for 4.5 hours of watching HD video and 6.5 hours of surfing the Internet.

The price of ZTE Nubia Z5 for the Russian market has not yet been announced, but we can assume that it will cost around 20,000 rubles. The price tag in China is $550.
