What's in the box?

Moto G9 Plus comes in an oversized box of dense cardboard, inside which the smartphone is hidden, already "dressed »In a complete silicone case, as well as accompanying accessories - Charger with a capacity of 30 W, cable USB-C and user manual.

The case will help protect the device from falling and the appearance of scratches, but without it, the smartphone looks, frankly, more advantageous. Fortunately, he immediately attracts the view with its dimensions and color. Especially in the Gold "Blush Gold" version that I got; There is also a version in the blue "Navy Blue" execution.

The housing of the gadget is made of plastic, however, if not to know this then you might think that from the metal - it is beautifully defining the light and quickly collects fingerprints; which, however, are easily cleaned. The back cover is non-removable, and it is very tightly adjusted to the body - not the backup and does not bend even with a strong squeezing. The camera block consisting of four modules protrudes over the housing is slightly, and the brand logo Motorola is not combined with the fingerprint scanner - that "moved" to the smartphone's power button.

The front panel is almost completely occupied by a huge 6.81-inch display. The dynamics will be located above it and noticeable only with attentive consideration of the approximation and contactless payment sensors. In the upper left corner of the screen is a hole for a 16 megapixel front camera. The side frames are minimal, upper and lower - a little more, but not so much so that it is in the eyes. We will be fair: each modern smartphone has a small "chin", this is the inevitable data structural features.

on the top face of Moto G9 Plus - microphone to suppress foreign sounds when talking and headphone jack 3.5 mm. The second one will like it to those who have not yet abandoned wired headsets. For them, Motorola prepared a small surprise: FM radio was found in the list of installed applications! There will be a headset, the cable of which will appear an antenna for receiving radio waves.

On the lower edge of the device - a conversational microphone, connector USB-C for charging and connections from a PC, as well as a speaker; Unfortunately, only one: from stereo sound in this model, the manufacturer decided to abandon. However, it is worth noting that the speaker is quite loud, and you can even hear the call in a noisy place. Run a little forward - the sound is also good in the headphones.

The left edge contains a SIM and Micro-SD tray connector (combined, that is, you can use either two SIM -Carts, or one SIM and memory card) and the Google Assistant call button. This button cannot be assigned to other functions, and if you are infrequently used by the assistant, you will have to come to terms with its unnecessaryness. Or on the contrary - it will be extremely useful if you are constantly accessing the assistant.

Well, on the right face there are volume swings and a power key combined with a fingerprint scanner. In my opinion, the most convenient solution, not counting the options with the contactless unlocking (for example, by view).

When the smartphone lies on the table, you do not have to raise it to grope the scanner on the rear panel - it is enough to touch Specker on the side and you unlock the screen. When you hold the gadget, the key with the scanner falls under a large or index / middle finger, depending on the hand, which is also very convenient. In turn, the adhesive print sensors often work slower than traditional. In Moto G9 Plus, by the way, the scanner reacts instantly and without errors.

Another interesting feature of the device is associated with a fingerprint sensor: a double tap on it (not by pressing, but with a light touch) you can call a menu with frequently used applications - of course, the application list can be set independently. In addition, in some applications, double tap causes contextual actions, for example, inserting text in the letter. It is very convenient and quickly deepening.

The main impressions of the appearance of the smartphone - it looks beautiful (seriously, the version in the "gold" I don't even want to hide in the case) and it is very big. Such, unfortunately, the fee for the huge screen and the battery of the impressive volume: the phone does not fit in every pocket, and in the purse will select a lot of free space for himself.

There is something to see

really, there is. It uses a 6.81-inch LTPS display with a 20: 9 aspect ratio, a resolution of 1080x2400 and support for HDR10. It's not a fake: enough to put two smartphones nearby - with HDR10 support and without - and enable the appropriate content on YouTube to clearly appreciate the difference in the image. After what you have seen, you can hardly want to return to ordinary screens.

The reserve of the maximum brightness is enough to use the device on the street with comfort, and three color profiles are "natural", " Bright "and" saturated "will allow you to set up color reproduction for your preferences. The screen is very responsive and reacts to light touch. It seemed to me that the resolution 1080r for such a diagonal is already not enough - I would like a higher density of pixels. However, this is a matter of taste and habit, and in general is not a serious problem. Now, if there was a display with a resolution of 720p, then you could put forward more significant claims.

In the list of screen settings, a pair of unique features was found. The first is "Careful Display": the screen does not fade and does not turn off until the user looks at it. The second function is "brief display." This is something like Always ON Display: Tapping on the screen, the user can watch the current time, weather, battery charge and notifications.

Powerful, fast...

Moto G9 Plus running the eight-year Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor, which differs from Snapdragon 730 ( Xiaomi MI 9T, Samsung Galaxy A80, OPPO K5) more powerful graphics: there and Adreno 618 is used there, but in the case of Snapdragon 730g, the graphic chip is a bit disintegrated to provide the best performance in games.

Well, really, all popular demanding games, like Call Of Duty Mobile, Genshin Impact, Asphalt 9, Pubg Mobile work on a smartphone without lags and departures, and in combination with a huge screen give a stunning experience. The gadget is almost not heated at a heavy load, and gamers can use the Gametime special superstructure: it allows you to disable notifications, automatically reject calls, take screenshots and so on.

in Antutu Benchmark device dials 251 thousand points - this is at about the level of Samsung Galaxy A71, Xiaomi Mi9t, Huawei P20 Pro, and in general, corresponds to the price category of the smartphone. Results in geekbench - 543 points in single-core and 1597 polytic performance points, which is also quite good. TRTTTLING DEVAYS Test passes confidently.

4 gigabytes RAM can embarrass the user accustomed to the fact that configurations C 6 GB RAM are used in modern models from the middle segment. However, it is worth considering that Moto G9 Plus is based on "clean" Android 10, without any launcher and add-ons, so "RAM" is not clogged with extra services, and as a result of 4 GB, paraphrasing the winged expression of Bill Gates, enough.

in the very A case, a smartphone easily holds dozens of applications in memory without unloading them, instantly switches between tasks, does not slow down, pleases smooth animations and uninterrupted operation.

Speaking of "Pure" Android, you need to mention that this can be the advantage, and a disadvantage. So, the possibility of customization of the device interface is more than modest: only some "live" wallpapers, a few widgets, but the ability to adjust the shape and color of the icons. No store with which you could convert ui to be unrecognizable. However, no one prevents the download of the third-party launcher from the Play Market.

But Moto G9 Plus contains several MOTO special chips. In addition to the above-mentioned double tap functions on the fingerprint scanner, attentive display and gaming mode, there is still own equalizer, tools for editing screenshots.

Adaptive performance analyzes user habits and "knows" when and which applications it starts - thus the RAM optimization occurs and the start-up time is reduced. And with special gestures, for example, launch a flashlight and camera. In principle, the optional commands, but you get used to them quickly and perform automatically.

... and enduring

The autonomy of the smartphone was at the height - still, there would be a battery on 5000 mAh. After receiving the new device, the user does not release it from the hand: sets applications, played with the settings, tests the performance, camera, studies the interface.

did not bypass such a fate and my sample Moto G9 Plus. And he showed himself worthy, steadily withstanding all the loads. And after the battery is still discharged, a fast charge by 30 W literally for an hour filled its energy. In general, you can count on two days of autonomous work. Depending on the script of using the smartphone can hold out without a socket and less, and more, but the fact is discharged slowly.

Megapixels does not happen much

The device is installed in the device. Review angles 118 degrees and luminosity F / 2.2, macro by 2 megapixel with lights F / 2.2 and sensor for measuring the scene depth for 2 meters with a diaphragm F / 2.2. As a front camera, a module is 16 megapical with a f / 2.0 light.

The interface of the main chamber contains several interesting options. The shooting mode by default creates frames with a resolution of 16 MP, however, if you wish, you can enable 64 MP mode and get more detailed pictures. portrait mode, shooting panoramic photos and the imposition of filters in a modern smartphone will not be surprised; More curious seemed to me the cutting modes, where the "cuts" the background, leaving only a person, and point color, which allows you to choose one color in the photo and remove everyone else. Unusual solutions, and they will be useful to create interesting photos. In addition, there are Macro modes, night shooting and gif animations.

Moto Camera G9 Plus takes off well, with proper color reproduction and competent work HDR. In portrait shooting mode, the phone accurately determines the boundaries of the background of the background, and in the night mode, the sensors capture the maximum amount of light, filling the picture with details. If you wish, you can activate the manual configuration of the camera parameters, as well as save the photo in format RAW for subsequent processing.

I liked the night shooting, but the pictures of the wide-angle chamber could be better - does not get the detail and the image is distorted along the edges. The front camera provides good frames, but it is better to turn off the automatic "body definition" - it is too diligently "improves" the photo, making the face unnatural.

then here users have the opportunity to shoot in FullHD and 4K, and in the first option, you can activate shooting at 60 frames per second. There is a slow motion mode (120 fps in FullHD and 240 fps in HD), there is digital stabilization, and even the front camera can shoot in slow motion.

Conclusion

Overall, the Moto G9 Plus is virtually flawless. There is a huge, bright screen, and a very capacious battery with fast charging, and excellent performance for its class, and good photography capabilities, and not overloaded with third-party Android launchers, and NFC, and a few additional features, such as a fingerprint scanner built into the power button and some branded Moto options.

The disadvantages of the device include a lot of weight and dimensions: of course, a lot of content will fit on a 6.81-inch display, but it will not be easy to control a smartphone with one hand. If this does not bother you, then you will not find a better option for your money. Moreover, as mentioned above, now you can save on your purchase: Moto G9 Plus is available in retail stores at a special price of 16,990 rubles.
