HTC Desire X Review

The company HTC has released its new smartphone Desire X, which will be somewhere in between the budget Desire C and One V. Previously, the gadget appeared under the name HTC Proto. The novelty is equipped with an integrated surround sound system and other interesting additions. But first things first.


HTC Desire X is made in the form of a classic plastic monoblock. Almost the entire front surface of the new smartphone is occupied by a display, above which are proximity sensors, lighting and the company logo, and below it are touch control buttons. On the back side there is a camera with LED flash, speaker and company logo.

The lid is made of soft touch plastic. The assembly is well done: there are no squeaks and backlashes.

Desire X measures 118.5 x 62.3 x 9.3 mm and weighs 114 grams.

Performance and Software

HTC Desire X runs on a dual-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 Cortex-A5 clocked at 1 GHz, Adreno 203 graphics accelerator, 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory (there is a slot microSD ).

The operating system in the smartphone is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense interface.

HTC Desire X is equipped with a 4-inch capacitive Super LCD display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels and 16 million colors. Image quality is good: colors are bright, vibrant and rich, clear and natural pictures. The viewing angles are very wide. In the sun, the fading is significant, but still the texts remain readable.

The camera

HTC Desire X is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus function. The gadget allows you to shoot with a maximum resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and record video in WVGA format (x480p) at a speed of 30 frames per second.

The camera also has a BSI sensor that allows you to take pictures with low lighting.

Note that the function of the photo and video is not a strong side of this novelty, since the video resolution is not very high, and the speed of the camera with a photograph of only 2.5 frames per second (for example, ONE V - 5 frames per second).


Smartphone is equipped with a lithium-ion battery, which, according to the documentation, will allow It is possible to run to 20 hours in talk mode (GSM network), up to 10 hours in talk mode (WCDMA network), up to 750 hours (GSM network) and up to 833 (WCDMA network) in standby mode.


The cost of HTC Desire X on the Russian market has not yet been voiced, but it became known that in Europe the price will be around $ 360.
